Why do I have problems signing up to sims 3 community?

I have been trying on and off for months now and now I have two separate expansion packs for my sims 3 game but no matter what I do the sims 3 community will not let me sign up it always says there is an unexpected error. I want my free new town but I am getting tired of the site not letting me on. Is there something I am not trying? I keep changing the name I want to sign up with, I have tried 4 separate email accounts, the different serial codes to my games and different passwords but it never does anything to help. Please help this is a real hindrance.
