Some hair can get damaged, but usually if your going darker it doesn't look fried or anything. Your hair will definitely go natural again but it'll take about 2-3 months. Also washing your hair with hot water and not using color protection shampoo can help to lighten it a bit. I use Revlon colorsilk hair dye so it's permanent but it does fade a little after about four washes
