Is it ethical to circumcise infant boys?
Circumcision was the #1 parental controversy in 2010, according to 'The Week." It is in the news almost every day. There are lots of discussions about medicine, religion, law, parenting, but very few about the ethics. These boys are not giving their consent. We know it will change their sexuality permanently. In most first-world countries the other gender is protected from any genital harm including a pinprick and male circumcision is certainly worse than that. Ethics trumps all reasons, so it is doubly strange that it isn't being discussed more. What is your take on this?
